Layer Springs for Railway Primary Suspension
Layer springs consist of alternating elastomer and metal layers. They provide defined vertical, lateral and longitudinal stiffness and help guide wheelsets while reducing vibration transmission between the axle and bogie frame. Depending on the vehicle design, these compact elements are used in primary suspension systems for trams, light rail vehicles and metro trains.
Rubber Springs and Spring Washers for Draw and Gear Units
Rubber springs and rubber-metal spring washers can be used in railway draw gear, coupling and impact absorption assemblies. Working together with metal components and, where specified, steel washers, they elastically absorb compressive loads, damp impacts and provide a restoring force. Their geometry, rubber compound and arrangement are selected to meet the required force-deflection characteristics.
